During this time, the milestones fly by and can happen before your ready. As a Northern VA toddler photographer I can’t slow down time, but I can freeze these precious moments and capture the joy of your little one's fist year of life. With every milestone, parents feel such pride watching their toddler learn and grow, seeing the little human they are becoming. A toddler session is the perfect way to celebrate all of their biggest firsts.


Your child’s first milestones are monumental, and capturing their personality during a toddler photo shoot is pure joy. From big belly laughs to sitting up, crawling, walking, and grabbing everything in sight, enjoying their first bite of birthday cake, and learning to talk and singing their favorite songs—each moment is a treasure. I’ll capture them playing, laughing, and exploring, with every detail coordinated, from outfits to props, based on your chosen colors and theme. I recommend booking your session based on milestones like holding their head up, sitting independently (sitter session), and approaching their first birthday (cake smash session), but toddler sessions can be booked anytime within the first year. Popular milestone sessions to consider are 3 month sessions, 6 month sessions, 9 month sessions and one year cake smash sessions. No matter which you choose, these are the memories you’ll treasure forever.


At my Sterling, VA toddler photography studio, I provide everything you need for a unique and memorable session. From a client closet full of adorable handmade outfits in all sizes to a large selection of timeless rustic props. For most toddler sessions, parents and siblings are able to jump in for a quick updated portrait at the beginning, so bring the whole family! Celebrating a first birthday? My cake smash sessions include all of the above, plus the cake, a balloon garland, and a fun splash-time bath to wrap it up and add a little extra fun.
