Session Types
Each Northern VA photography session is designed and built around YOU. Every session begins with a consultation where we plan every little detail of the shoot and design the session of your dreams. I have a large selection of props, outfits for toddlers, and maternity gowns so that you don't have to lift a finger when preparing for your session. My amazing hair and make-up team is also available in the studio, so that you can relax, be pampered like a celebrity and be confident that you will look and feel your best on your photography session day.

Every session begins with a consultation/ session planning meeting to plan every detail of the shoot and design the session of your dreams. I have a large selection of props, outfits for toddlers, and maternity gowns so that you don't have to lift a finger when preparing for your session.

Don't worry you don't have to commit more than a couple hours with me, the majority of that time I spend is behind the scenes to make your experience perfect and seamless. - - During your consultation and session planning we create the session of your dreams and where I bring your vision to life by creating one-of-a-kind set-ups and give us an outline to use during the session so that it goes as smoothly and efficiently as possible, making sure you are getting exactly what you want. I help you with every detail including wardrobe, props, and any special needs or wants your family has.
- - You don't have bring a thing! Choose from 100's of coordinated newborn wraps, headbands, bonnets, backdrops and props or choose from our client closet of gorgeous designer gowns (maternity & non-maternity) and hand made toddler & child outfits.
- - During session I give you my 100% attention and there are no times limits or cut offs (we shoot until either I feel we got everything or you want.
- - Professional Hair & Make-up Services are available in studio before and during your session so that you look and feel your best while not needing to waste precious time prepping before the session. Momma you deserve some pampering!
- - I am Newborn Safety Certified, Infant CPR trained, up to date on all vaccinations (t-dap, flu, COVID), insured and licensed, and stay current on infant health safety. I am a proud member of American Association of Newborn Photography Safety (AANPS), Professional Photographers Association of America (PPA), and a Certified Newborn Photographer with the APNP
- - I will be there every step of the way to coach and pose you and your family during the session so that you look your best on camera and we get smiles and laughs all around.
- - During the ordering & viewing appointment I will show you exactly how your images will look on your own walls in any frame or product you wish (Yes I said YOUR OWN WALLS!) Just send me a photo of any walls you are thinking about decorating and I will cut out all of the guesswork and help you choose what image and products are best for you, your lifestyle and your home. So you will feel confident that you will love your art work for years to come.
- - Although I believe in the importance of printed memories I know that we live in a digital world. I don't ever make you choose, so every image you purchase will come with a matching digital file along with the physical printed art, so you get the best of both worlds.
- - I spend hours meticulously editing every detail in your final images bringing them to life and creating artwork that will warm your heart and soul. I spend at least 1 hour of editing time per image to assure that no detail is missed and that when your images are printed on your walls that they will a perfect piece of art. Once your images are edited I even let you have the final say in case you need any adjustments as I want you to fall in love with the product you are getting.
- - I have curated a beautiful list of products- ways to display all of your gorgeous images, starting with mounted prints, canvas gallery wraps, custom linen and leather bound albums, and handmade wooden memory boxes. I have carefully chosen and built great relationships with our trusted vendors to create a list of products that are handmade by the world's most talented craftsmen and women who put their heart and souls into every item they create, because they know how important these items are to you and your family.

Carly is amazing! We were sleep-deprived first-time parents looking for local photographers for a newborn shoot, and were SO SO glad we found her. She had a beautiful selection of of props and was very accommodating and let us use a few things we brought as well. She was great with our newborn baby boy and so incredibly patient throughout the session. We had a great experience with Carly from Imprinted Photography! We booked her for our maternity shoot and the weather wasn't too promising, but due to our tight schedule she worked with us to keep our day as we wanted and provided us with amazing photos that we love! Carly really listens to what you want and she provides you with all the information you need. Carly did an amazing job with our newborn's pictures! Carly knew exactly how to keep our little one comfortable throughout each different pose and worked quickly to get the most adorable photos. She is so personable and had a variety of props for us to choose from so we could pick the exact looks we wanted our son to be in. She also used items that family members created for us to add a special touch to the photos. When I spoke to Carly, she assured me they were certified to pose newborns as they took classes with nurses, which made me feel extremely comfortable choosing them. We highly recommend Imprinted Photography for your newborn baby photoshoot. They and had plenty of outfits and props for us to choose from. They were flexible with our baby’s eating schedule and were understanding of modifications as the photoshoot progressed. She was also quick to deliver the proofs to us for review and we were extremely pleased with the final product.
Carly just completed their 4th session with us yesterday and it was amazing as usual. We just had our second baby and she took the time to get every single image that we envisioned. I trust her entirely with my newborn and with my 14 month old. She is safety trained and knows exactly how to calm and soothe newborn babies to get them into those cozy, adorable positions. The prints and art we have received are beautiful and we are so happy we invested in these sessions. I have told all of my friends and family about them and I am so happy I finally have an amazing photographer to recommend after having bad experiences with many photographers in the past. I had a newborn photo shoot with Carly in her studio and it was such a pleasant experience. Carly was AMAZING with my baby (who can be very fussy). She kept her so calm and got her into beautiful poses without too much noise out of her. She was very soothing the whole time and took her time with getting her into poses so she wouldn't upset her. The studio is a great and welcoming space with so many props/outfits in a range of colors to chose from. She kept the room warm to keep the baby comfortable which I really appreciated. I was able to sit on the couch in the studio while they snapped photos. The photos turned out better than I could have imagined. She truly captured such a special moment in time. I had TWO amazing experiences with Imprinted Photography! First, they took me to a beautiful location I didn't even know even existed for my maternity shoot. They had such a great vision and made me feel so beautiful and I will cherish those photos forever! They were patient with me and constantly making sure I was comfortable and feeling ok! Second, I had them do a newborn shoot with my baby girl at 2 weeks of age. They were so patient and they exceeded my expectations on the final product! I get so many compliments on both of the photo shoots! The hardest part was selecting the ones I wanted because I loved every single one!
