The luxury client closet is filled with high-end, designer maternity gowns to flatter every shape and size, as well as outfits for baby photos, toddler photos, cake smash photos and family photo shoots too. Plus, my favorite part of the Sterling, VA photography studio, the newborn prop collection- including beautiful handmade headbands, hand-knitted bonnets made with the highest quality fibers, backdrops and wraps in any color or texture you could ever want, as well as handcrafted rustic bowls, wooden beds and buckets unique rustic props- all perfect for creating timeless portraits. The studio is stocked with snacks, drinks, a TV and some toys to keep the little ones busy make and sure your experience is stress-free and enjoyable. Why can't I choose my final images from an online gallery?
Absolutely! I know how important it is to include your furry family members in your portraits session. Before the session, I’ll ask a few questions to ensure the studio environment is a good fit for your pets. As long as I feel it's safe, your fur babies are more than welcome to join in the fun!
Can I bring my fur babies to my session?
We recommend booking your photography session as early as possible, ideally 3-6 months in advance, as we limit the number of clients each month to ensure personalized attention. How early should I book my session?
Maternity photography sessions are ideal in the third trimester but can be done anytime during your pregnancy. Newborn photography sessions are best within the first 3 weeks, when babies sleep deeply and can be safely posed in those snuggly positions we all love After your baby arrives, we’ll find the perfect time based on you and your baby’s unique needs. Milestone photography sessions are best done when your baby can sit unassisted, and cake smash photography sessions are ideal around their first birthday.
When should my session take place?
You don’t need to bring anything unless you have a special family heirloom or personal item you’d like included in your photo session. I provide everything—from props for newborns sessions to cakes for cake smash sessions and designer gowns for maternity sessions. For family sessions, you may need to bring clothing for certain family members, but I’ll guide you through wardrobe choices and you can always use anything from my client closet. Our Sterling, VA photo studio is fully stocked with drinks, snacks (including maternity and toddler-friendly options), and entertainment to keep your family comfortable. Do I need to bring anything?
The length of your photography session depends on the type and setups involved. For newborn photo sessions, expect 3-4 hours as it takes time to safely pose and soothe your baby into a deep sleep. Maternity photography, family photography and milestone photography sessions ( cake smash photography ) typically last 1-2 hours. I don’t enforce strict time limits, ensuring we capture everything you desire. My focus is to make the experience enjoyable and relaxed, so we can capture natural smiles and genuine interactions without feeling rushed.
How long should I expect to be at your studio for my session?
Each session requires a session fee of $200-$400 to book, covering consultation, session time, access to luxury props, the couture maternity client closet, and in-studio hair and makeup services. This fee doesn’t include digital images or artwork. After your session, you’ll have an ordering appointment where you can select and purchase your favorite images. There’s no minimum purchase—you only buy what you love. Clients typically invest between $1,000-$4,000 on images and custom artwork, with flexible options for packages or individual prints. How much is a typical session?
A print-based photography studio means that all clients leave their sessions with printed artwork. I believe in the importance of printed art and displaying your memories and milestones in your home. I believe that it is so important to have your family images printed. Research studies have proven that prominently displaying portraits of the family improve a child’s self-worth. It’s one thing to hire a professional, it’s another thing to actually do something with the images. Therefore my goal is to make sure that none of my client's memories end up stuck on a hard drive. That being said, I do understand the importance of receiving digital copies of your images to share on social media.
